RECAP
The First Game of the season was a blast. We had the red team take the field first led by it’s veteran coach Fidel. They found themselves in a tight pickle heading in to the last inning. However, in the last inning The fighting Red team came back to seal the deal in the last inning on a walk-off base hit. There were tremendous plays by the Kees who leap high in the air to snag a hard hit line drive turning what could have been a double to left field into a double play.

The Second game of the season was a turn around for the Blue team. The blue team managed to put 7 runs on the board. There were tremendous hitting from Juan, who in the fourth inning hit a smoking line drive homerun to clear all the bases. There was also Jordan who crushed the ball, he hit two doubles in the game, making the red team a power house hitting team. On defense both teams were spectacular, there were plenty of balls hit that were caught by Alan, Kees, Marcus, Juan, and once they received it their high IQ of where to go with the play was something to see! Very impressed with the sportsmanship of both teams. There is tremendous leadership by Kees, and Andre, helping out the other players before the ball is put into play. We would see if the blue team led by Coach Zach and all his wisdom and energy can sustain next week’s game vs Coach Fidel and the Red team. Both teams are now tied even with One win and one lost. The Red team has a total of 40 points and the Blue team has a total of 45 points. Go Heaters!

What a beautiful Saturday it was today in South Florida. Today’s game-time was at 10:30; the skies were blue and both team look ready to rumble after they were focused on their infield outfield drills before the game. The blue team took the field first. The red team manage to put 0 in the scoreboard in the first, but in the second inning they could not stop hitting. They put 5 runs in the board widening the gap 5 to 1. The blue team tried to stayed in the ball game by playing spectacular defense. Alexander, the blue team’s third base man was a machine, no ball could get by him. In the 4th inning there was a huge homerun by Andre in the blue team that brought the blue team 3 runs away from tying the ball game. Kees, however had other plans in mind as he hit a homerun with a runner on base to put them up 7 to 2. The game finished 8 to 2. Both teams fought hard to the end. Travis the starting pitcher did a prenominal job being consistent staying in the zone!

Finally the Red and Blue Heaters took the field after not playing after two weeks. due to rain. There was a guest appearance by Edvin Alvarez who started on the mound for the blue team. This is the first time in history that the South Florida Heaters ever had a pitcher pitch against their opponent. In the first inning Edvin struck out the side on only 10 pitches. He threw 3 innings striking out 8 batters and allowing no runs. On the Red team Julio Linarte took the mound he had 5 strike outs, he gave up 3 runs, and allowed a Homerun to Andre, and a triple to Edvin. The blue team even up the standings now having 3 wins and 3 Loses. Which ties things up with the red team who also have 3 wins and 3 loses.
